Weird and satisfying take on Wario, making him play kind of like Mario but feel significantly different. Full of secret doors that you had to pay to unlock in order to get the real ending. Wario's different verbs were interesting, but this series really takes off in Wario Land 2 when it breaks away and does its own thing.
