Playfish, 2012. The first social game I could bear to play for very long, perhaps only because of its relationship to SimCity. Fun and low-pressure at first, but before long I began to find that major bits of story (the spaceship crash, etc) could only be experienced by recruiting multiple friends or spending a moderate amount of hard currency. I was unwilling to do either, and the game got boring quickly.
