Flour-bomb war

An elaborate game of capture-the-flag played at summer camp, in which each player is armed with “flour bombs” which are single-ply tissues filled with a tablespoon or two of flour and taped into a ball. When thrown they're supposed to burst and leave an obvious flour mark on the target. The unreliability of this weapon is part of the interest - sometimes they don't burst, and if not handled carefully it's easy to tag oneself. We played with multiple “lives” - a struck player is supposed to hike back to base and get a mark from a medic.
