Facilitation

The art of healthy group conversations.

Practices

  1. Have a goal.
    1. It should be obvious why the meeting is happening from the meeting invite.
    2. Always restate our goal at the top of the meeting.
  2. Have an agenda.
    1. Share it ahead of time (usually in the meeting invite).
    2. Every agenda item needs a name (who's framing the issue) and a duration (you'll miss this, but it helps stay on track.)
  3. Close with “What happens next.”
    1. All action items should have a responsible individual and a deadline.
  4. Right people in the room
    1. You are free to leave if you are not a) putting anything in or b) getting anything out.
