My favorite 2D Mario game, for the slightly expanded moveset and the density of ideas, secrets, and general weirdness. It took me a while to warm up to this, as a kid I didn't like how it felt “off” compared to other Mario games. I eventually came back to it on an emulator though and got comfortable enough with it to see how fluid it can be.
