I've tinkered with these in the past and had at least a couple of people demonstrate speedcubing and teach solving while I was at Code.org. But in December 2022 I finally learned how to solve one myself. That is, I've memorized the seven algorithms to execute the beginner's layer-at-a-time solution consistently. For something I bounced off of for a long, long time, it's surprisingly satisfying as a fidget toy now.
