It's pretty well-designed for this genre.  Probably ate up an hour or two, with a fairly small amount of sitting and waiting.  Doesn't depend as much on the appeal of ever-increasing numbers as it does on revealing new dimensions to its mechanics; and different parts of play seem more interlinked  than, say, Universal Paperclips.
